When language empowers one to express oneself, Literature opens a wide arena where one can look for larger domains for refinement. The status of English Language and Literature in this global era is a highly relevant topic of discussion among academicians, linguists and literary people. The humanising potential of language and literature are highly innovative areas for anthropologists as well as academicians to look up. These days, value added courses and value educations are included in the curriculum in order to impart humanising values to the society. At this juncture, it is exciting to deliberate upon the humanising quality of language and literature.
