This all day conference is aimed at teachers and trainers who already teach ESP or are thinking of expanding their knowledge and moving into specific areas of teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year we are offering a choice of 30 different professional workshops, presentations and company talks on topics such as law, medicine, the automotive industry, technical English, aviation, finance, law enforcement, telecommunication, and human resources as well as workshops addressing the skills and techniques required to teach ESP. The speakers are all experts in their fields and are coming from countries as far flung as France, Switzerland, Romania, England and the USA, as well as Germany.<\/span><\/p>\n

NEW SOUNDS 2010: Sixth International Symposium on the Acquisition of Second Language Speech,Poland, May 1-3 2003<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

The conference will cover a variety of themes related to the acquisition of a foreign language phonology, including among others:
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

– speech perception and speech production<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0theories of acquisition of L2 phonology<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0phonetics and phonology in SLA<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0acquisition of second language phonotactics<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0multilingualism and the acquisition of third language phonology<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0the application of new technologies<\/span><\/p>\n

–\u00a0neuro- and psycholinguistic aspects of phonological acquisition.<\/span><\/p>\n

Proposals of papers and posters related to the acquisition of second language speech are invited. The deadline for abstract submission is 1st December 2009. The submissions will be reviewed by\u00a0our International Advisory Board. Invited plenary speakers are:

Research Into Teaching with Whole class Interactive Technologies (RITWIT),\u00a0An International Conference hosted at the University of Cambridge, June 29-30<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

he conference focuses on\u00a0research<\/em> into the\u00a0pedagogy<\/em> underlying use of innovative tools such as interactive whiteboards, visualisers, tablet PCs, remote input devices, voting systems, etc. How does their use facilitate or inhibit more effective\u00a0whole class teaching and learning at school level?<\/em> What are the implications for teacher development and educational policy?<\/p>\n

The conference is for educational researchers, practitioners at all levels of experience (student teachers to senior leaders), teacher educators, advisers and consultants, inspectors and policymakers. Non-presenting delegates are very welcome.<\/p>\n

We are happy to announce that the Sixth International Symposium on the Acquisition of Second Language Speech New Sounds 2010 will take place on 1-3 May 2010 in Pozna?, Poland. The Symposium will be organised by theSchool of English<\/a>,\u00a0Adam Mickiewicz University<\/a>, Pozna?\u00a0and will continue the tradition of the conferences on the acquisition of foreign language speech, organized originally by Allan James and Jonathan Leather.<\/span><\/p>\n
