Learn English with a Friend<\/strong><\/p>\n

Who do you know who\u2019s also learning English? Isn\u2019t there someone in your office, department or building?<\/p>\n

With English becoming so important globally, I bet there is!<\/p>\n

Learning, like everything else, is so much more fun when you\u2019ve got a friend to do it with.<\/p>\n

So why not post up a message in your intranet and see if there\u2019s anyone in your company who\u2019d like to meet up with you for a mid-morning coffee, once a week or more, with the primary objective of spending this time learning and talking in English.<\/p>\n

Another option is\u00a0tandem learning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is when you exchange English conversation for conversation skills in your own language.<\/p>\n

\n

I had two tandem partners when I was studying German and I enjoyed this activity very much.<\/p>\n

I found them via the local library and some of my friends found theirs through the gym and others did so by asking friends if they knew a native speaker.<\/p>\n

Whether you learn with a friend, a colleague or a stranger, the key to learning together is discipline. It\u2019s really important to meet up regularly, have a set place, date and time and to make a \u2018rough\u2019 plan of what you want to speak about when you meet.<\/p>\n
