{"id":354,"date":"2009-07-19T06:58:19","date_gmt":"2009-07-19T03:58:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eltweekly.com\/more\/?p=354"},"modified":"2009-07-19T06:58:19","modified_gmt":"2009-07-19T03:58:19","slug":"eltweekly-issue26-article-efl-teachers-linkedin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/eltweekly.humbeestudio.xyz\/?p=354","title":{"rendered":"ELTWeekly Issue#26, Article: EFL Teachers LinkedIn"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>EFL Teachers LinkedIn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By\u00a0<strong>Karenne Sylvester<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>This article first appeared on How to Learn English (<\/em><em><a href=\"http:\/\/kalinago.blogspot.com\/\">http:\/\/kalinago.blogspot.com\/<\/a>)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Like everything else in life, you get<span>back <\/span>what you\u00a0<span>put in<\/span> and LinkedIn is no exception to this rule.<\/p>\n<div>LinkedIn is a social-networking site, in the way that Facebook, Twitter and Ning are, however, its community function is slightly different &#8211; its core objective lies in bringing together professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Whether they are accountants, IT managers or CEOs they&#8217;re all there on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n<p>English Language Teachers, institute owners, publishers, authors, bloggers and e-learning site developers.<\/p>\n<p>However, and actually, the thing I like best about this site is that unlike most other social-networking sites, on LinkedIn you know exactly<span>who&#8217;re you&#8217;re talking to<\/span> and the profile you build also manages to serve as an online public CV (resum\u00e9) .<\/p>\n<p>That may seem a little scary, especially if you&#8217;re learning all this techie stuff with me step-by-step, but if you are looking to<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>expand your clientele<\/li>\n<li>stretch into new fields of expertise<\/li>\n<li>state your availability for new projects or jobs<\/li>\n<li>or you just want to let the world know about your teaching abilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>then it is an excellent space in which to do this in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><span><strong>1.
