This conference aims to be an\u00a0<strong>open forum for debate<\/strong>\u00a0among specialists and people interested in\u00a0<strong>education, bilingualism<\/strong>\u00a0and its relationship with other social, cultural, political, economic, linguistic and pedagogical issues.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals are welcome from all graduate students, researchers or other professionals working in academia and academic administrative positions.<\/p>\n<p>The conference is organized around different themes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Economic aspects<\/em>: how are bilingual programs financed in the US and Spain; governmental institutions that participate and how; how will bilingualism be financed in the future?<\/li>\n<li><em>Political aspects<\/em>: the politics of bilingualism in the US and Spain, election campaigns and bilingualism, immigration and bilingualism.<!--more--><\/li>\n<li><em>Social and cultural aspects<\/em>: changes in the American and Spanish societies due to bilingualism; the challenges that families face and how they are dealing with them.<\/li>\n<li><em>Linguistic aspects<\/em>: teaching American &#8211; British English in Spain; teaching Peninsular and Latin American Spanish in the US. Spanglish.<\/li>\n<li><em>Psychopedagogical aspects<\/em>: methods of bilingual education; new technologies; quality seals, learning psychology, methods and models of learning new languages.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Extended deadline<\/strong>\u00a0for proposals submission: Proposals can be sent\u00a0<strong>until January 30<\/strong>, 2013.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Important deadlines:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>February 15th , 2013<\/strong>: Publication of accepted proposals.<\/li>\n<li><strong>March 30th, 2013<\/strong>: Deadline for register at the conference
