Omani EFL learners\u2019 views concerning the sentence types they believe are easy or difficult to produce are compared with the types of correct and erroneous sentences they actually produce orally and in writing.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">A comparison of the frequency and types of mistakes made in the students\u2019 productions will be presented. Recommendations shed light on the structures that need more attention in the classroom.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.nus.edu.sg\/eltwo\/2011\/12\/14\/sentence-types-students%E2%80%99-perceptions-and-productions\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>&#8216;Sentence Types: Students\u2019 Perceptions and Productions&#8217; by Alaa Al-Musalli and Ibtihaj Al-Harthi<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Language self-appraisal (or self-assessment) is a process by which students evaluate their own language competence. This article describes the relationship between students\u2019 self-appraisals and their performance on a measure of academic listening (AL). Following Aryadoust and Goh (2011), AL was defined as a multi-componential construct including cognitive processing skills, linguistic components and prosody, note-taking, rating input to other materials, knowledge of lecture structure, and memory and
