Gradually, it was extended to literatures written in English in countries like America, Australia, Canada and New Zealand. In addition to above countries, literatures written in English language in India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Caribbean countries are incorporated under one umbrella term. The unique quality of this literature is common language (English) but different literatures, coloured by different society and culture. The authenticity of New Literatures in English is validated by many Nobel, Booker, and Commonwealth prizes won by the writers of this literature.
