It affects all areas of language learning \u2013 for example, there is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cambridge.org\/elt\/blog\/2015\/07\/pronunciation-tips-1\/#Walter\">evidence<\/a> that strong reading skills and good phonological awareness go hand in hand.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Don\u2019t just teach occasional \u2018pronunciation lessons\u2019.<\/strong><br \/>\nIt\u2019s important \u2013 and not difficult \u2013 to integrate pronunciation throughout the syllabus. For example:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>always drill new vocabulary items;<\/li>\n<li>invite students to compare how they would pronounce something with what they have just heard in a listening clip;<\/li>\n<li>invite students to identify words in a reading text that contain a particular sound.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>3.
