We wouldn\u2019t spend the time we do teaching it if we didn\u2019t value reading. Even though\u00a0reading is so essential, we often overlook the\u00a0<strong>fundamental reading skills<\/strong>that our students need. Reading isn\u2019t just about going from the beginning to the end of\u00a0a written passage. There are different reading strategies to use for different informational outcomes.<\/p>\n<p>Here are three strategies your students should learn to give them full academic success.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Scanning<\/strong> is used when<strong>\u00a0looking for a specific piece of information in a given text<\/strong>.
