Inspired by Friend &amp; Bursuck\u2019s INCLUDE analysis strategy for inclusive education (2014, 2015) that consists of\u00a0<strong>I<\/strong>dentify classroom demands,\u00a0<strong>N<\/strong>ote student learning strengths and needs,\u00a0<strong>C<\/strong>heck for potential paths to student success,\u00a0<strong>L<\/strong>ook for potential problem areas,\u00a0<strong>U<\/strong>se information to brainstorm ways to adjust instruction,\u00a0<strong>D<\/strong>ecide which adjustments to make, and\u00a0<strong>E<\/strong>valuate student progress, three key teaching strategies were implemented in the writer\u2019s class. At the end, by applying the strategies\u2014confirming and focusing on the autistic learner\u2019s strengths that are potential for his success, applying assessment differentiation, and empowering both the autistic learner as well as his classmates\u2014it was found that the autistic learner benefited from this more \u2018humane\u2019 teaching strategy and suceeded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hltmag.co.uk\/aug20\/humanizing-your-reading-class\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Humanizing Your Reading Class: The Magic of Working with an Autistic Learner<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Humanising\u00a0Language\u00a0Teaching team has published a research paper &#8216;Humanizing Your Reading Class: The Magic of Working with an Autistic Learner&#8217; by Mega Wati from Indonesia.
