These verbs are referred to as <strong>Linking<\/strong>, Helping, or Auxiliary <strong>verbs<\/strong>. Unlike typical verbs, these \u201cto be\u201d verbs don\u2019t have to denote action and don\u2019t have any meaning on their own. These verbs (linking verbs) gets their name because they connect the subject with the rest of the sentence.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When there is a \u201cto be\u201d verb, the subject is linked to another word in the predicate.
