Dr Philida Schellekens is an internationally recognised consultant, author, teacher and teacher trainer and wrote the best-selling Oxford University Press ESOL Handbook (2007). The aim of this session was to explore the quality of teaching and learning as it is delivered in further education, adult and community learning and work-based training. The debate looked at factors which would lift the effectiveness of classroom practice and discussed which areas can be implement by ESOL teachers themselves.
